Eng. Sooma Ayub
Eng. Sooma Ayub is the Director Airports & Aviation Security, Uganda Civil Aviation Authority and a member of the Uganda Institution of Professional Engineers (UIPE) and a Registered Engineer with the Engineers Registration Board of Uganda. He is a Board member of Airports Council International, representing the Eastern Sub region of Africa consisting of 11 Countries. He is also a Board member of the Engineers Registration Board of Uganda
Eng. Sooma holds a Master’s degree and a Post-graduate Diploma in Management Studies specialized in Management all from Uganda Management Institute, a Bachelors of Engineering specialized in Electrical Engineering and Automation Technology from Tsinghua University, Beijing, China. The Top Prestigious University in China. A diploma in Chinese Language from Beijing Languages and Culture University.
Eng. Sooma also holds senior aviation management training certification with a distinction from IATA (International Air Transport Association), Singapore.
Eng. Sooma Ayub holds more than 25 years working with Uganda Civil Aviation Authority and has a wealth of experience in senior aviation management, public sector management, organizational strategic management, Airport development and Marketing, Emergency planning, Airport security management and processes, Airport Environmental management, Airport Safety Management Systems Implementation, Airport communications and Public relations, project management and implementation, security systems/equipment, Airport operations, master plan developments, energy management including energy audit and surveys, generators and building electro-mechanical services. He has a high understanding of the International Aviation Standards and Recommended Practices (SARPS).
