Functionality of water supply systems key to sustainable national development

Every 22nd March, the worldcommemorates World Water Day with aview to reflect on and highlight key issuesaround the significance of Water as a finiteresource. This year, Uganda joins the restof the world to celebrate World Water Daywith the theme: Water and SustainableDevelopment.

The Government ofUganda, through the Ministry of Waterand Environment recognises the fact thatadequate water supply to the citizenscan contribute significantly to nationaldevelopment. As such, the governmentalways sets aside resources to invest inwater supply systems in order to increasethe size of the population with access tosafe water especially for domestic use.
